“Love the ones you can. Touch the ones you can reach. Let the others go.” —

Ian McEwan, one of my favorite modern day American writers. (via mascarah) (via frangry)

Surely she doesn’t mean the Ian McEwan who wrote, amongst other things Atonement and the Comfort of Strangers, and who was born and grew up in England?

“As he had fallen in among a crowd of painters and poets that included Willem and Elaine de Kooning, Franz Kline, Larry Rivers, Helen Frankenthaler, Jackson Pollock, James Schuyler and Kenneth Koch, it was perhaps natural to make poems out of their parties, feuds, love affairs and drunken gossip.” —I love this quote - I love the sound of the life it evokes (it’s from the NYTimes in a review of an anthology of work by Frank O’Hara).

I am on holiday for an entire week.  I am so happy I feel like I am going to burst.  I can hardly sit still - I want to dance and sing.  An entire week with no calls, no clients and no files.  There are so many things I want to do this week - and at the same time I want to do nothing at all.  Ah the luxury.

Sick colleagues

I hate you people that come to work with a cold because you don’t want to take time off work and then you cough everywhere and spread your germs around so everyone else in the office gets sick too. Just take the time off damn you!

Mint Gum

amirhasnever:

Amir has never chewed mint gum.

Me either!  The thought of it makes me gag.
