I am not a religious person, but I like almost every song that has “hallelujah” in it.
My Definition Of A Boombastic Jazz Style - A Tribe Called Quest
This song has special meaning to this Ol’Geezer as it unites and spans a place in time, a father’s love for his son, and much more! My son was at an age where you just don’t tell your elders, parents, the seniors of the tribe much. After picking him up from a spot of trouble we were doing that long silent drive home in the car. He didn’t ask but just snapped the radio on, and tuned in this song, cranked up the volume and sulked a bit. After a few seconds, I found myself liking the tune and I told him as much. He could hold back his smile….and we drove on in musical silence. Years later we agreed that at least we spent a far amount of time getting to know each other and I thanked him for helping me to grow as a man. Sorry for this wordy bit but I do love my son and he’s now a parent with two of his own.
This is just awesome.
I detest shopping, particularly with other people.
