Ray Milland in “The Lost Weekend” (1945), a film about the life of a chronic alcoholic followed through a four day drinking binge. John Lennon would later refer to his year-and-a-half (1973 - 1975) drunken exile in Los Angeles as his “Lost Weekend”.
